If you're considering a brow lift...
After brow lift surgery, your forehead may be taped and your head may be loosely
wrapped to minimize swelling and bruising. Dr. Mosser may insert a small tube
at the incision sites to minimize bruising and to help drain fluids. You will experience swelling, numbness, and discomfort around the incision sites
immediately after surgery. This is normal. Your scalp may also feel itchy, especially
around the incision sites. Also, some facial movements and expressions
may be temporarily impaired. Before you are released from our Bay
Area face lift clinic, Dr. Mosser will explain to you:
- how to care for the incision sites
- general concerns to
watch for as well as specific problems that may arise at the surgical site
- how to clean and care
for your hair and face as you heal
- medications to apply
or to take orally that aid healing and reduce the potential for infection after
your forehead lift surgery
After your brow lift surgery you will be instructed
to keep your head elevated at all times until the initial
swelling has subsided. The incisions will begin healing
immediately and within five to ten days, sutures or clips
will be removed as necessary. At this time you can return
to normal activity. It is crucial that you use sunscreen
and avoid long exposure to sunlight until you have completely
healed.
Results—the Amazing New You
Swelling will take several months to completely dissipate.
And it can take a full year for incision lines to completely
refine. But you should see the effects of your brow
lift as soon as the swelling subsides. Though aging
will reassert itself, you should be able to maintain
your relaxed and more youthful appearance so long as
you practice a healthy lifestyle and stay vigilant
about sun protection. At any time after your brow lift surgery,
you can address your questions to Dr. Mosser at any
of his San Francisco facial plastic
surgery clinics.
