Procedures - Men

If you have been thinking about plastic surgery, you are not alone. A new wave of interest in plastic surgery for men has resulted in more and more men seeking cosmetic surgery procedures. Safer and more reliable techniques, an increase in public popularity, and a growing desire among men to prioritize their appearance are all factors that play a role in the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery. San Francisco Plastic Surgeon Dr. Scott Mosser has extensive experience with cosmetic surgery in men, an important quality because many surgical techniques and aesthetic concepts are very different in the male and female patient.

Though some fundamental principles of the procedures are the same for both men and women there are many instances where a specific modification in technique is necessary to establish an excellent result in a male patient. Some elements of the male anatomy, such as the male facial hair pattern, call for particular techniques in order to achieve the desired result. Dr. Mosser’s extensive education and experience make him the ideal surgeon for male facial rejuvenation for San Francisco and Bay Area patients.

Procedures:

Facial rejuvenation (facelift, eyelid surgery)

Every year more and more men keep their youthful appearance through the use of cosmetic surgery. Competitiveness in the workplace and a higher priority on appearance has led to a surge in men seeking facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgeries. Now that techniques have been developed to provide a great rejuvenation with a natural result, men are choosing the benefits of these procedures. Don’t be shy—ask Dr. Mosser about facelift and eyelid surgery procedures.

Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty)

Aesthetic nasal surgery has long been a popular option for men. A disproportionate or poorly shaped nose can affect not just your appearance but also your self-esteem. Because Dr. Mosser is knowledgeable in the specific characteristics of the male nose (which are remarkably different from the aesthetics of a feminine nose), he is able to construct a masculine and well-balanced result. In a consultation, Dr. Mosser can fully explain the techniques utilized, the goals of size and shape, and the ways in which this surgery will be individualized to the shape of your face.

In particular, Dr. Mosser is aware that a natural result is the key goal in all surgeries, but especially in San Francisco. Rhinoplasty in an area which culturally prioritizes balance and harmony should fulfill those same ideals in the final result.

Body contouring

Even athletic men, with access to all of the Bay Area's recreational resources, can reach a maximum improvement in their abdomen with diet and exercise alone. As we age, our bodies deposit disproportionate amounts of fat in isolated areas (something that is also called lipodystrophy). Also, excess skin in the abdominal area can lead to a lax and wrinkled look, even though your muscles underneath may be well-defined. To bring out the healthier body underneath, liposuction and / or abdominoplasty can be used to remove this excess fat and skin, and achieve a more sculpted, visually appealing appearance. Gynecomastia reduction, or male breast reduction, may also be indicated in the case of extra glandular tissue in the breast area.
